Development of PHP-based application and web services (LAMP) to and for social housing management and repair systems. This includes the creation of SOAP/REST and file based services with (s)FTP(s). Core languages used are PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This is work remote position.
Continued the same social housing software development role following Castleton Technology's acquisition of the business; employment contract rolled over seamlessly.
Full-stack development of Ruby on Rails applications for health services, with PostgreSQL and MySQL backends. Part of an Agile/Scrum team using Git, BitBucket, and Jira. Also maintained a legacy PHP product.
Social housing software development (same scope as MRI Software). Impact Applications was subsequently acquired by Castleton Technology and then by MRI Software.
Developed web-based solutions using PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — both procedural and OOP with MVC patterns (CodeIgniter). Contributed to an internal/client CRM and led the migration of a mobile phone insurance platform from ASP/C#/MS SQL to PHP/MySQL, including data migration and product enhancements.
Developed workshop control and management software for car dealerships. Maintained legacy VB6 applications and built new web applications (Midas, Welcome Display) using PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, Google Charts, and Adobe Spry/Air.
Improved Powder Rheometer instrumentation software for pharmaceutical and powder manufacturers. Development in Visual Studio C++ and Visual Basic 6 for both the main test application and Data Analysis software.
Wide-ranging engineering role spanning USB/JTAG firmware programming, NI TestStand automation, NT kernel-mode drivers, VB.NET/SQL Server test systems, and people/vehicle management systems deployed for hospitals and prisons (Broadmoor, Manchester Strangeways, Lancaster YOI). Also developed Joint Strike Fighter power panel test tooling for Smiths Aerospace using NI CVI and TestStand.
Development and maintenance of HR and time-and-attendance software in Visual Basic.
